  5. One eyed patients
  6.  
  7. Great caution should be used in fitting 
  8. patients with only one functional eye.  
  9. As I tell these patients, "You no longer 
  10. have a spare eye, if something happens 
  11. to the good eye you will be functionally 
  12. blind".  It is best to not fit these 
  13. patients, however, we often do when 
  14. they have high ametropias or for other 
  15. reasons.

  17. Do not fit them with extended wear.  
  18. Use daily wear only.  Patient education 
  19. and compliance is critical.

  21. They must wear safety spectacles even with the contact lenses for protection.
